ABOUT BAGGU RECYCLED LEATHER:
Motivated by our customers' desire for leather bags, we sought an alternative to traditional leather that more closely aligned with our goals of minimizing waste and reducing our overall environmental impact. During a years-long development process, we considered materials, suppliers, and quality to create a collection that upholds our durability and responsible sourcing standards.Our recycled leather takes landfill-bound, genuine leather scraps and transforms them into the smooth, durable material we use for our bags. It's made of 100% recycled leather fibers with a 100% recycled polyester fabric base, and is protected by a water-based, DMF-free polyurethane coating. In total, the material is 70% recycled leather-a higher percentage than most recycled leather bags on the market.
Recycled Leather
The leather layer is made entirely of reclaimed leather fibers. In total, our material is composed of 70% recycled leather—a higher percentage than most recycled leather bags on the market.
Recycled Polyester
We use 100% recycled polyester that comes from everyday consumer and commercial sources, transforming what would otherwise be discarded into a functional backing material.
Coating
We finish each bag with a water-based polyurethane coating. This process ensures a durable surface with a smooth, pebbled texture while avoiding harmful solvents like DMF.
