Mahjong Classes

Have you heard about the latest board game trend? Yes, Mahjong - the game developed in China in the mid-1800s and first popularized in the 1920s in America - is having a huge upswing in popularity a century later! One of our customers, local educator Bree Beckwith, has taught classes in the Birmingham area and expressed interest in teaching classes after several people approached her about learning, and we are thrilled to partner with her to make that happen.
You can register as a group of four, a pair, or by yourself - whatever works best for you. No prior experience necessary, and we will provide all supplies.

Your $50 Class Fee includes:
- Instruction by an experienced Mahjong enthusiast who is also a local educator
- Live game play with other class participants during and after instruction at either the introductory or intermediate (you know the basics, but would like to learn more about strategy, game play, etc.)
- Charcuterie and a cocktail or mocktail
- 10% discount on any purchases at South & Pine or Blue Apple Books during the event (including some fun mahjong-related merchandise!)
- Purchase your spot in advance to book your seat and be sure to have one person buy tickets for your group so that you all get a spot.
