NeuriFact by Ken Watts
Exciting new novel by local Madison resident Ken Watts, a retired Marine officer and engineer in the aerospace/defense industry.
Does God continue to reveal Himself in ways that advances in science only now allow us to discern? This is the fascinating question that is explored in Ken Watts novel, Neurifact. The author uses his naval aviation and engineering background along with his strong Christian faith to build a riveting storyline. For the spiritually-minded or spiritually-curious who enjoy the techno-thriller genre, Neurifact is a highly recommended read.

Dr. Nate Walters, a Neuro-engineering professor, is researching why some fighter pilots have the instincts, impulses, and intuition to perform unorthodox yet creative maneuvers that lead to mission success. His subject pilot is Marine Captain Lance “Lancer” Patrick, a naturally gifted pilot.
Nate records everything that Lancer sees, hears, says, feels, and manipulates along with his corresponding brain wave activity. He has developed an AI tool that accesses the body of neurological data to localize brain waves and determine any triggers that initiate successful maneuvering.
In a simulator competition against the Air Force F-35 AI autopilot, Lancer impulsively initiates three non-tactical maneuvers that deny both aircraft any sensor data. He then blindly fires a missile that locates and destroys his adversary.
Nate’s AI tool detects a unique brain wave phenomena prior to Lancer’s three maneuvers that no neurological data can explain. Because Lancer said a prayer and recited a scripture at engine start that was recorded, the AI tool opens its data search to scripture and Christian literature. It classifies the waves as a remote possibility of a neurological artifact, or “Neurifact” of a spiritual interaction.
Thus Begins Nate’s Spiritual Quest to Follow This NEURiFACT Thread to A Surprising End.
